3rd Kanata Scout Group primarily serves the neighbourhoods of Bridlewood and Emerald Meadows in Kanata (Ottawa), Ontario. The Group is sponsored by the Bridlewood Community Association and we offer co-ed mixed outdoor/indoor programs for youth from age 5 through 17.
As part of Scouts Canada, our Mission is to help develop well-rounded youth, better prepared for success in the world. We do this by enabling young Canadians in the Kanata area to engage in safe, youth-led, adventurous programs.
3rd Kanata is entirely staffed by volunteers and we run yearly programming encompassing weekly meetings, weekend camps, community service projects, day outings, virtual experiences, badge activities and more. The Scouting program year starts in September with special activities during the summer. However, in 2021 the membership year of Scouts Canada changed to January 1st to December 31st. We accept members at anytime of the year, but our primary recruiting season is from September through January with and Early Registration period starting on September 15th each year for new members (register in September and start right away if space allows).
